Shabbat times calendar for your city

Candle lighting and havdalah for the next eight weeks.

About these times

Sunset and nightfall are calculated for the center of your ZIP code or city with Hebcal, at sea level. On Yom Tov that falls right after Shabbat, or on a second day of Yom Tov, candles are lit after nightfall, and the table says so.

Questions and answers

When is candle lighting on Friday?

Shabbat candles are usually lit 18 minutes before sunset. Some communities use 20, 22, 30 or 40 minutes. Jerusalem commonly uses 40.

When does Shabbat end?

This page shows havdalah when the sun is 8.5 degrees below the horizon, a common standard for nightfall. Many communities wait longer, for example 42, 50 or 72 minutes after sunset.

Why do times change each week?

Sunset moves earlier or later through the year and changes with daylight saving time, so candle lighting moves too.

Can I get these times on a wall calendar?

Yes. A Family Luach calendar prints candle lighting and havdalah for your city on every Friday, Shabbat and Yom Tov for 12 months.
